Rainy days always make me want to curl up with a good book or do some deep thinking and reflection. Since I have a little man on my hands most days, that doesn’t really ever happen. Instead, on this crummy Friday we choose to watch Harry Potter.  I scheduled out social media posts for syndication next week and the little man was introduced to the wonderful world of wizards.

Today was the kind of break that only comes when nature forces you to retreat and slow down.

I did some self reflection, particularly around my career life (you know, the 9-5.)I’m worried my role and skills aren’t helping the company achieve our goals. So, I had a conversation with a trusted female leader about next steps and who I should meet over the next six months to ensure I was really learning as much as I could. Up to this point, I’ve learned its more about who you know and how you’re aligned, in corporate America, over anything else. All of this came about because I’m thisclose to finishing Sheryl Sandberg’s book LeanIn– can you tell?

The Desire Map

My Twitter feed was buzzing, as normal, but my life coaching friends we’re sharing an extra juicy link this Friday from the wise Danielle LaPorte. Now, if you don’t know her (not like I know her know her) she is one to bookmark. Especially if you go through times of self doubt and fogginess, as so many of us women do. I heard it referred to as a Wobble Moment and I’m stealing that name. Danielle is the queen of overcoming Wobble Moments and it just so happens to be her birthday! She is super classy and sharing her latest creation the Desire Map with the world for a limited time Pay-What-You-Can download:

I jumped on the chance to score this because:

A. I am a sucker for personal development
B. It’s about time I read something for my soul
C. My brain needs to hear comforting words about deepest desires and aspirations on a regular basis and I’m about due.

The Desire Map trailer spoke to me within the first minute: “The Desire Map is going to change the way you feel about everything…. we decide we want everything Out There but we have the relationship between ambition and goals completely backwards.”

Sound familiar?
Told you, she’s amazingness.

I can’t wait to dive in, literally and will keep you posted on how it goes. The course is actually broken up into two parts, one is the book and the other a workbook.
I LOVE WORKBOOKS!

There is no formal timeline to finish, which is great.  As part of this course I also get access to a super exclusive Facebook group for everyone reading along- yeay! Community is key for personal development and I always end up meeting the BEST people. Again, people I may never meet in real life but end up becoming great friends.

So this weekend I encourage to take advantage of the Desire Map Pay-What-You-Can, pause and invest some time in yourself. With or without the rain.

Go.

Explore.

Discover.

Find something that will help bring the real YOU out for us all to meet.

While you’re reflecting this weekend, have a wonderful Memorial Day of rest.
We’re having a BBQ at our house for a few close new-momma friends, which I’m sure will be an exhausting blast. Yet another reason to pause and look inside.

A calm after the storm.

Cheers!
